A devastating road collision in Kent has resulted in the tragic deaths of a young girl and a man in his 30s, with a woman left fighting for her life in critical condition. The horrific incident involved a tipper truck and a traditional pony and trap on a busy rural road.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The fatal crash occurred on Wednesday, 1 April, on the A228 Boyle Way in East Peckham, near Tonbridge. The specific location was between the junctions of Branbridges Road and Hale Street, a stretch known for local traffic.
According to Kent Police, a white DAF tipper truck was travelling southbound when it collided with a pony and trap moving in the same direction. The impact was severe, leading to immediate fatalities and critical injuries.

Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, rushed to the scene following reports of the collision. Despite their efforts, the man in his 30s, who was riding in the trap, was pronounced dead at the location.
The young girl and a woman who were also travelling in the pony and trap were urgently transported to hospital. Tragically, the young girl succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The woman remains in a critical condition, receiving intensive medical care.
