Family tribute to Bolton taxi driver killed in horror crash

The family of a taxi driver killed in a devastating head-on collision in Bolton have paid a moving tribute to him, describing him as "the gentlest soul".

A Fatal Journey on Wigan Road

Mosrab Ali, a 54-year-old Uber driver from Blackburn, had left for work on Saturday evening, 10 January. In the early hours of the following morning, at around 12.50am on Sunday, 11 January, he was driving his Citroen C4 Picasso along Wigan Road in Bolton.

Tragically, his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a red Seat Leon. The impact was so severe that Mosrab, a father who had worked as a taxi driver for roughly a decade, died at the scene.

Three Teenagers Also Lose Their Lives

The three male teenagers travelling in the Seat Leon also lost their lives in the horror crash. They have been named locally as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel and Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali.

Two passengers who were in Mosrab's taxi at the time of the collision were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their current condition has not been disclosed.

A Family's Heartbreak and Tribute

Mosrab's devastated family have spoken of their profound loss. His eldest child, 29-year-old Humayra, remembered her father with immense love. "He was the gentlest soul," she said.

The family revealed they had often worried about him working the late-night shifts, but he would always reassure them. Relatives and friends are now rallying to offer support following the heartbreaking news.

The community in Bolton and Blackburn is in mourning following this tragic incident which claimed four lives and left two others fighting for theirs.
