Ex-WWE wrestler Amber Nova arrested for DUI in Orlando

Former WWE and AEW wrestler Amber "Nova" Flora, 34, was arrested in Orlando, Florida, on suspicion of driving under the influence after an early-morning traffic stop, with police recording a breath-test refusal.

Flora, who performs as Amber Nova and has appeared for WWE NXT, AEW and Impact Wrestling, was taken into custody on Friday, October 23, and booked at 5.40am local time, according to the Orlando Police Department. No crash was reported.

Arrest details and police account

An Orlando officer, Alvin Silverio, pulled Flora over at around 1.48am near South Orange Blossom Trail and McLeod Road. In his account, the officer said Flora had bloodshot, glassy eyes, a bloated face and a strong odour of alcohol on her breath. Her speech was described as slow and thick-tongued, and she appeared confused, though she was initially cooperative.

Flora was then taken to the Orange County Sheriff's Office DUI Testing Center, where officers said she swayed from side to side as she was escorted inside, the New York Post reported. Police reports state she first declined a breath test, but agreed to try after being warned about the legal consequences.

Breath test attempts and arrest

Officers reportedly say the breath test never produced a valid result. Between 3.06am and 3.31am, police recorded four attempts across two machine cycles, but claim Flora continued talking during the testing windows, meaning the machine could not get a proper reading. She also asked to speak to her attorney during the process.

The test was officially logged as a refusal at 3.31am, and she was arrested on suspicion of DUI and refusing to submit to a DUI test, eWrestlingNews reported. Flora was reportedly released less than five hours after being booked, at 10.07am, after posting bond. The bond total was listed as 2,000 (1,000 for each count), with bail also reported as £1,500.

Background and next steps

Flora attended a mandatory court hearing on Saturday, October 24. Her next compliance deadline is scheduled for November 2, 2026, with the case still ongoing.

Flora is a 34-year-old American independent wrestler best known for her "American Muscle Mechanic" gimmick. Born on November 2, 1991, in Hackettstown, New Jersey, she grew up largely in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, before relocating to Orlando, Florida. Before wrestling, she studied at the Technical College of the Lowcountry and worked as a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Her "Mechanic" persona is a tribute to her father, who restored classic cars, and includes references to a 1973 Chevy Nova and a signature wrench nicknamed "Wrenchy".
