Hoylake Road in Birkenhead remains closed this morning after an accident last night, with traffic monitoring service Inrix reporting the road has been shut for over 11 hours.

According to Inrix, Hoylake Road is closed today, Monday November 2, from Hurrell Road to B5151 Bidston Village Road. The road, which connects north Birkenhead to Wallasey and junction one of the M53 via the Bidston roundabout, has been shut since 8.15pm last night.
Inrix says the closure is due to "accident investigation work". The Liverpool ECHO has approached Merseyside Police for more information on the incident.
