Neale Daniher, the AFL legend and prominent motor neurone disease (MND) campaigner, was honoured in the Victorian parliament on Tuesday. Premier Jacinta Allan led the tributes, praising Daniher for his decision to raise awareness of the disease after his diagnosis, instead of stepping away from the public eye.

Allan stated that because of Daniher's efforts, there is now more research, support, and hope for those affected by MND. 'Neale did that,' she said, acknowledging his significant contribution to the cause.

MP Emma Vulin's Personal Connection

Victorian MP Emma Vulin, who is also living with MND, shared a personal account of Daniher's kindness. She revealed that Daniher contacted her following her diagnosis, despite not knowing her. 'He didn't have to because he didn't know me from a bar of soap,' Vulin said, highlighting his compassionate nature.
