The shocking incident, which occurred on residential roads in the London borough of Bromley, shows a lone individual using tools to pry up the cast iron covers before loading them into a vehicle. The thefts have raised serious safety concerns among local authorities and residents alike.
Midnight Heist Caught on Camera
Security cameras installed at a local property captured the entire audacious operation. The footage reveals the thief working methodically under cover of darkness, demonstrating concerning familiarity with removing the heavy infrastructure components.
Each manhole cover weighs approximately 50 kilograms, suggesting the perpetrator either had assistance or used specialised equipment to transport their unusual haul.
