Emergency services are responding to a significant fire in Swansea city centre, with thick black smoke visible for miles around. Residents living nearby have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed as a precaution.
Fire on Dyfatty Street
The blaze broke out at an industrial unit on Dyfatty Street, close to Swansea railway station. Crews from Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at approximately 12:30 PM. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Smoke Visible from Mumbles
Witnesses report seeing dense black smoke billowing from the area, with the plume visible from as far away as the Mumbles. Local authorities have urged anyone in the vicinity to avoid the area and to keep windows and doors shut to prevent smoke inhalation.
