Getaway car found torched after St Helens burglary

Police are appealing for information after a car used as a getaway vehicle in a burglary was found burnt out in Warrington. Officers were called to Warrington Road in Bold Heath, St Helens, at around 7.30am on Saturday, October 3, following a report that two men had entered an address.

Personal items were stolen from the property before the suspects fled in a silver Vauxhall Astra parked nearby. The vehicle was driven in the direction of Warrington and Liverpool Road before later being discovered burnt out in Sankey Valley, Warrington.

Police appeal for dashcam and CCTV footage

Detective Inspector Leanne Toole said: “This was a very distressing experience for the occupants as their home was invaded which is an awful experience to go through and can often have a massive and long-lasting impact on victims.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area and noticed two men acting suspiciously to please contact us.

“We would also ask people to check their dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage to see if they may have captured something which may be vital to the investigation.”
