Staff have been evacuated from the RTÉ studios in Donnybrook, Dublin, after a bomb threat was sent to the broadcaster this morning, triggering a large police response.
The alarm was raised after an email was sent to the broadcaster earlier today. Scores of other media outlets across Ireland and Britain received the threat, RTÉ studios said.
Precautionary Measures and Investigation
The broadcaster has moved to pre-recorded programmes as a precautionary measure while gardaí investigate, reports Dublin Live.
An Garda Síochána is aware of the threat made against media organisations in Ireland and Europe, a Garda spokesperson said. The spokesperson added that An Garda Síochána has been liaising with Irish media organisations and that the threats will be investigated.
