Kuwait has released footage that officials claim shows an Iranian drone striking Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, 3 June. The video depicts the moment an Iranian drone hit the roof of Terminal 1, which subsequently erupted in a massive fireball.
Attack Details
The attack resulted in one person killed and more than 60 others injured. State media reported 'severe damage' to the Terminal 1 building. Emergency services responded swiftly, and the airport was temporarily closed for operations.
Denials and Blame
Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards denied responsibility. Iranian state media reported that they blamed the destruction on US interceptor missiles failing to hit their targets. However, US military officials contradicted this statement, asserting that Iranian drones deliberately targeted the airport.
The incident has escalated tensions in the region, with Kuwait calling for an international investigation. The United Nations has urged restraint from all parties involved.
