Woman sexually assaulted on London train, police release CCTV

British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted on a train in central London.

The woman boarded an Elizabeth Line train at Tottenham Court Road, heading towards Maidenhead, on August 18 at around 6pm, police said. Shortly after the train had departed Bond Street station, she was sexually assaulted while standing in a carriage, police said.

Police appeal for information

British Transport Police (BTP) has now released a CCTV image of a man they believe could have information to assist their enquiries. Anyone who recognises him is asked to text BTP on 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 648 of 18 August. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Statement from British Transport Police

BTP said: "Detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a train in Central London have released this image in connection.

"At around 6pm on Tuesday 18 August, a woman boarded an Elizabeth Line train at Tottenham Court Road station towards Maidenhead.

"Shortly after the train left Bond Street station, she was sexually assaulted by a man whilst standing in the carriage. Officers believe the man in the images could have information that may assist their enquiries."
