Dorset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted while swimming at Bournemouth beach. The incident occurred at around 6pm on Sunday, July 12, in the water to the left of the pier.
Details of the Assault
According to police, a man swam up to a family group and touched a woman in her 40s on the bottom over her clothing. The suspect is described as of Indian descent, approximately five feet six inches tall, with black hair and a small stubbly beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
Officers attended the scene and arrested a 35-year-old man from London on suspicion of sexual assault. He has been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.

Police Constable Matthew McGuinness of Dorset Police said: “We believe that there were independent witnesses that saw the incident and I am appealing for them to please contact us as this could assist our investigation.”
