A woman has accused two men of raping her before pouring alcohol on her and trying to set her on fire. The alleged attack happened in the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district of Chhattisgarh, India.

Woman lured to secluded area

According to the woman's complaint, she had been travelling along a forest route on her way to hospital for medical treatment when she encountered two men she knew. She alleged that the pair lured her to a secluded area before raping her.

The woman told police that the men then poured alcohol into her mouth and attempted to set her on fire. She managed to escape from the area, while both men allegedly fled following the incident.

Police investigation underway

The woman later went to Chirmiri police station and made a complaint against the two men. Police subsequently registered a case and have begun searching for the suspects.

Police teams have since carried out raids at locations where they believe the suspects could be found as officers attempt to track them down. The woman has also undergone a medical examination and given a statement to investigators.

Evidence gathering continues

Officers are now gathering further evidence as part of their investigation and are examining the scene of the alleged attack. The identities of the two accused men were not immediately known, and the investigation remains ongoing.
