An American high school football coach has vanished and is now the subject of an intense manhunt after being accused of serious child sexual abuse offences.
Charges and Disappearance
Travis Turner, the head coach at Union High School in Virginia, mysteriously disappeared late last week according to Virginia State Police (VSP). His disappearance coincides with his undefeated football team's ongoing playoff run.
Authorities have now revealed that Turner is wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.
The Search Operation
A substantial search effort is currently underway to locate the missing coach. Officers have been utilising multiple resources including search and rescue teams, drones, and K9 units to track down Turner.
The Virginia State Police are appealing to the public for assistance in their investigation into his sudden disappearance.
