Police in France have alleged that a 15-year-old girl was kidnapped, forced into prostitution and raped by nearly 900 men over a four-month period. The teenager was reportedly human trafficked and sent to several French towns between February and May 2026.
Kidnap and threats of violence
According to police, the girl was threatened with violence if she did not comply with her captors' demands. It is estimated that her alleged captors made around £50,000 in just four months from the scheme.
The case came to the attention of authorities after the teenager's mother reported her missing in the Puget-sur-Argens region in May. Just days into the investigation, officers from the Marseille vice squad located the girl and said she had been abused and forced into prostitution.
Forced to earn a daily minimum
Police say the teen, who has not been named, was told she must earn a minimum amount daily by selling her body. She was forced to prostitute herself in the Var and Alpes-Maritimes regions, working across towns including Nice and Cannes.
Her services were advertised by the men running her, who posted online and left flyers in apartments and hotels. During the investigation, police found that the teen was being kept under close watch at all times to ensure she could not escape.
Arrests and charges
A joint agency operation tracked down two suspects, leading to their arrest on October 13. They appeared before court on October 15 and were charged with aggravated pimping of a minor and human trafficking of a minor in Puget-sur-Argens, Draguignan, Toulon, Nice and Cannes.
The adult suspect was remanded in custody, while the minor was released under judicial supervision. The first suspect will stand trial on December 11, and the second will be tried before the Draguignan juvenile court.
