A dangerous stalker whose twisted obsession led him to demand he be breastfed by his victim has been jailed for his campaign of terror.
Michael O'Donnell, 38, subjected a woman to 18 months of relentless harassment that left her fearing for her safety in what prosecutors described as one of the most disturbing stalking cases they've encountered.
A Descent Into Terror
The nightmare began when O'Donnell started sending the woman increasingly disturbing messages, with his demands escalating to the point where he asked her to breastfeed him - despite the woman being in her 60s and not having breastfed anyone in decades.
Manchester Crown Court heard how the victim was "utterly terrified" by O'Donnell's behaviour, which included:
- Hundreds of unwanted messages and phone calls
- Turning up uninvited at her home
- Making inappropriate and sexualised demands
- Refusing to accept her repeated rejections
The Psychological Impact
The court was told the victim suffered severe psychological distress, with the constant harassment leaving her afraid to leave her home or answer her phone.
"This was a calculated campaign of terror that stripped the victim of her sense of safety and peace of mind," the prosecutor stated during sentencing.
Judge Sarah Johnston described O'Donnell's behaviour as "deeply disturbing" and noted the particular distress caused by his breastfeeding demands, which she said demonstrated a complete lack of boundaries and understanding of appropriate behaviour.
Justice Served
O'Donnell was sentenced to a significant prison term after pleading guilty to stalking involving serious alarm or distress. The judge also imposed a restraining order to prevent any future contact with the victim.
Police have praised the victim's bravery in coming forward and encouraged other stalking victims to seek help, emphasizing that no one should have to endure such terrifying behaviour.
