A man has been sentenced for sending revenge porn images of his friend's ex-girlfriend to her neighbours. Arkadiusz Lis posted letters that included a photograph of the victim showing full frontal nudity along with her phone number, following the end of his friend's relationship with her.
Lanark Sheriff Court heard the victim was "horrified" when she opened the letter and discovered that several neighbours had received the same image by post. Lis, 42, from Bellshill, Lanarkshire, also admitted sending the woman a text message threatening to disclose "intimate images" of her.

Fiscal depute Jack Muir told the court: "It is a picture she had taken. She was horrified to open the letter. The telephone number associated with the text message was associated with the accused. He was arrested at Glasgow Airport."
Lis admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause fear and alarm. The offences took place between March and May 2023.
Sentencing and background
Lis was represented by McQuillan Glasser and Waughman in court. His lawyer said the case had taken many years to resolve because it had involved one of Lis's friends, who had helped send the letters, and there had been a long-running dispute over responsibility for the offence.
He said: "The friend was an ex partner who was staying with Mr Lis. He accepts that he was doing these things and he should not have been doing them. He accepts it wasn't something he should have been doing in any shape or form. It wasn't his idea but he went along with it."
Community payback order imposed
Sheriff David Bernard sentenced Lis to a community payback order requiring him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. He said: "This is a very serious charge that the court is taking very seriously."
