Mason Haynes, the 6ft 10in British bodyguard known for protecting A-listers including Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Lewis Hamilton, died in a horrific road crash on July 4, 2026, just two days before his 53rd birthday. He was declared dead at the scene, and another person was seriously injured.
Career Protecting the World's Biggest Stars
Haynes spent 22 years in the security industry, starting as a bouncer on the pub and club scene before rising to protect some of the most high-profile people globally. His client list included Beyoncé, Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, David Beckham, Sabrina Carpenter, and Charlie Puth, whom he toured with in 2018. In 2022, he was hired by ABBA for their reunion.
In the summer of 2014, Haynes joined the cast of ITV's The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), overseeing protection for stars Dan Osborne, James Argent, Ferne McCann, and Sam Faiers during filming of the 13th series in Ibiza.
Involvement in Kim Kardashian's Paris Robbery
Haynes was part of Kim Kardashian's security detail in October 2016 when armed men disguised as police officers stormed her luxury Paris apartment, held her at gunpoint, tied her up, and locked her in the bathroom while stealing millions of dollars' worth of jewellery. Reflecting on the incident, he said: 'I can't go into much detail about that; I was part of that team, and that incident was simply a set of unfortunate circumstances which led to something bad happening.'
Personal Life and Anti-Bullying Advocacy
Haynes was open about being a 'badly bullied skinny kid' who became a bodyguard to keep people safe after being hospitalised due to severe bullying. He ran the Instagram account Bodyguards Against Bullying. He is survived by his wife, Fay, 52; their daughter, Brooke, 18; and his son, Noah, 25, from a previous relationship.
Fatal Crash Details
Hampshire Police confirmed the fatal crash on July 4 involved four vehicles: two Harley-Davidson motorbikes (one ridden by Haynes), a BMW X3, and an LDV Maxus motorhome. Two drivers were arrested but have since been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
A GoFundMe page with a target of £18,000 has been set up by friends to give him 'the send-off he truly deserves - a celebration of a life that touched so many people.' The funds will also help ease immediate financial pressures for his family following the sudden loss.
