CCTV Image Released in Train Assault Investigation
Detectives from the British Transport Police have issued a public appeal, releasing a CCTV image of a man they urgently wish to speak with. This follows a disturbing incident where a young woman was allegedly sexually assaulted on a train travelling from the Peak District to Nottingham.
The attack is reported to have occurred on the 30th of September aboard the service running from Matlock to Nottingham. According to police reports, the victim boarded the train at Duffield railway station in Derbyshire at approximately 4.45pm.
Details of the Assault
As the woman made her way through the carriage, she passed a group of three people. It was at this point that a man within the group is alleged to have sexually assaulted her. Police state that the man also made an inappropriate comment towards the victim during the encounter.
