Urgent Manhunt Underway in Suffolk
Suffolk Police have initiated an urgent manhunt following a sexual assault on a woman during her morning jog in Stowmarket. The distressing incident occurred on a pathway off Iliffe Way.
Attack Details and Suspect Description
The victim, a woman in her 30s, was running between 5:45am and 6am on Wednesday when she was approached, pulled to the ground, and assaulted. The attacker is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 10in tall, with a medium build. He was wearing distinctive clothing including a dark woolly beanie hat, a thick dark rain jacket, and dark trousers. Police also reported he smelled strongly of cigarettes and cannabis.
Police Appeal and Community Response
Detective Inspector Stuart Dolan-Allen stated this was an extremely distressing incident for the woman. The local community can expect an increased police presence as officers conduct their enquiries. Police are particularly keen to hear from dog walkers, commuters, and other runners who were in the area around the time of the attack. The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
