Manchester man, 22, charged with child sex offences

Abdulmalik Abdullah Abass, a 22-year-old Sudanese national from Gatcombe Square, Manchester, has been charged with a string of offences against a child.

Charges and details

Abass has been charged with meeting a girl under 16 years of age with the intent of grooming, taking a child under the age of 16 from a person having lawful control, and engaging in sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16.

He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 21.

Police statement

In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Abdulmalik Abdullah Abass (07/12/2003) of Gatcombe Square, Manchester, who is a Sudanese national, has been charged with the following offences: meeting a girl under 16 years of age with the intent of grooming, taking a child under the age of 16 from a person having lawful control and engaging in sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16."

The spokesperson added: "He has been remanded in custody and due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning (Monday 21 September 2026)."
