Police were called at 2:36am on Saturday, July 26, to an alleyway off Deansgate, Blackpool, following a report that two girls in their late teens had been raped.
A spokesperson for Blackpool Police said: "A man has been charged with raping two teenagers in Blackpool."
They added: "Our officers were called at 2:36am on Saturday, July 26, to an alleyway off Deansgate, to a report that two girls - both aged in their late teens - had been raped."
Arrest and charge
An investigation was launched and following enquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested in Blackpool on Tuesday. Officers had previously released a CCTV clip and appealed for information about the alleged attack, which happened near the alleyway running from Edward Street to Topping Street.
"Following consulation with the Crown Prosecution Service, James Peters, 30, of no fixed address, has been charged with two offences of rape."
Peters appeared before Lancaster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, where he was charged with two counts of rape.
Victim support
Specially trained officers are understood to be supporting both of the victims.
