Man Charged After Girl, 16, Raped in Glasgow Park

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Springburn Park, Glasgow. The incident occurred between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on Friday, 26 June, 2026, when the girl was walking near the park's Moongate area. She was reportedly pushed into bushes and sexually assaulted.

Police Scotland confirmed the arrest and charge of the man, who is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 July. A Police Scotland statement said: "A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious sexual assault at Springburn Park in Glasgow. A 16-year-old girl was assaulted in the park between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on Friday, 26 June, 2026. The man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 July, 2026."
