Ex-JPMorgan banker Chirayu Rana drops sex slave lawsuit to file stronger case
JPMorgan accuser drops lawsuit to file stronger federal case

A former JPMorgan banker who accused his boss of keeping him as a 'sex slave' is dropping his bombshell lawsuit to file a new one with a dossier of 'evidence'. Chirayu Rana, 35, is preparing to relaunch what his lawyers call a more damaging case against Lorna Hajdini, 37.

Motion to dismiss and refile

Rana filed a motion asking a Manhattan judge to dismiss his lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase and executive director Hajdini, allowing him to pursue the matter in federal court instead. This move comes six weeks after Rana was identified as the worker at the centre of accusations that rocked Wall Street.

New allegations and legal team

Rana's new legal team claims the original lawsuit 'failed to capture the full horror of what he endured' and omitted several federal allegations, including race discrimination, retaliation, and violations of medical leave protections. Attorney Jon L. Norinsberg stated, 'The public has been fed a wildly distorted version of this case... The full scope of racism, abuse, and retaliation he endured at JPMorgan has not been told.'

Hajdini has consistently denied the claims, arguing in a countersuit that Rana's allegations were 'false, malicious, and in bad faith.' She continues to work as Executive Director in JPMorgan's Leveraged Finance division in New York.

Background of the case

In his previous lawsuit, Rana alleged that Hajdini turned him into her 'sex slave' by drugging him with Viagra and a date rape drug, and threatening to cut his bonus if he did not comply. He no longer works for JPMorgan. The case has drawn significant media attention, with Rana losing his bid to proceed anonymously.
