Jose Antonio Quintana Torrejos, 49, was arrested on multiple felony charges after allegedly "exposing and playing with himself" in a Walmart parking lot in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on July 21, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
Shoppers, including children, witnessed the act. Police responded to multiple complaints of public indecency at the Coldwater Road store. Officers arriving at the scene reportedly saw the suspect trying to drive away and conducted a traffic stop.
Charges and victims
During the stop, police claim they saw Torrejos toss a beer can out of the car window. He was charged with three Level 6 felonies: public indecency, vicarious sexual gratification, and dissemination of matter or conducting a performance harmful to a minor, as reported by Wane 15.
Investigators identified two victims: a 12-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl. Both later identified Torrejos in a police photo lineup, according to Wayne FM. He was taken to the Allen County Lockup and is currently held at the Allen County Jail.
Possible sentence
Public court records indicate Torrejos has a prior conviction for public indecency. If convicted on all counts and sentences run consecutively, he could face up to seven-and-a-half years in prison. Under Indiana law, each Level 6 felony carries a sentence of six months to two-and-a-half years, with an advisory sentence of one year.
If the judge orders concurrent sentences, the maximum would be two-and-a-half years. The prior conviction could be used as an aggravating factor to seek a tougher sentence rather than probation.
