A husband who drugged and raped his wife over a 20-year period invited two men in a single night into their home to abuse her, even asking one to leave an online review, a court heard.
The husband, in his 60s, who cannot be named, has already admitted to drugging his wife to rape and sexually abuse her over more than two decades, between 2004 and 2025. Jurors heard he would go online and arrange for others to visit his marital home, where he would film and picture them abusing his unconscious partner, before sharing the footage online.
Two men visit in one night
Louise Oakley KC prosecuting said that on September 15, 2024, the husband arranged for two men to visit their marital home to sexually abuse his unconscious wife. Graham Brougham, 74, and Sean Peers, 38, attended one after the other.
The court heard Brougham left the house at 2.22am but the husband “was not satisfied”, with Peers then arriving around 3.15am. Both men have pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later.
Nine men are now on trial at Manchester Minshull Street crown court accused of a range of sexual offences. Four other men have pleaded guilty to a variety of offences.
Further abuse and online reviews
One month later another man, Keith Fotheringham, 59, visited the house and sexually abused the wife. He has also pleaded guilty. Within five minutes of Fotheringham leaving the house, the husband was sharing the images he had taken.
On February 9, Philip Wild, 58, allegedly attended the marital home, with the court hearing he was “fully aware” that the wife “was not conscious and not able to consent to any sexual activity”. As the sexual abuse took place the wife didn't “show any real signs of being conscious, she was snoring, she was unconscious”, the court heard.
When Wild left, after 3am, the husband “was not sexually satisfied” and went on the Fabswingers site to see if there was anyone else close enough to come round, it is said. His message was answered by Mohammed Sabir, 29, who used the handle ‘Kashmiri Spice’. Sabir visited the marital home after 4.30am, the jury was told.
The court was told Sabir was aware the wife “was not conscious and not able to consent to any sexual activity”. Both men filmed her on their phones when in the bedroom. The court heard the husband later asked Sabir to leave a review on Fabswingers as he wanted to find other “liked minded individuals”. In the review, which was shown to the jury, Sabir is alleged to have said it was “really easy” to arrange a meet and how it was his first time “f***ing someone's wife in front of them”.
Messages and drugs
The court heard Sabir asked about returning to the house on March 15, messaging “she leathered tonight”. But the husband told him it wasn't possible as his wife wasn't drinking for Lent, jurors heard.
In April, the husband resumed contact with Daniel Rayner, saying he needed something to help him with the abuse. Rayner allegedly told him: “I have used some stuff from Thailand” and “I have also got sleeping pills if you can crush them and put them in her food”. The court heard he also offered to send the husband some GHB to mix in his wife's drink.
It is alleged the husband later shared the images he had taken of the sexual abuse with Rayner, who allegedly sent the response “so when can I come over and play if you're pimping her out”.
The court has heard one defendant had referred to the case of Gisèle Pelicot in messages to the husband — and a jury has heard police found more than one million sexual abuse images on the husband's phone after he was arrested.
The nine men on trial, who deny a range of offences, are David Graves, 60, of Ilkeston, Derbyshire; Daniel Rayner, 42, of Whitstable, Kent; Philip Wild, 59, of Stockport; Mohammed Sabir, 28, of Stockport; Jonathan Kirk, 43, of Stockport; Jordan Wallace, 31, of Wythenshawe, Manchester; Alan Keelan, 42, of Wythenshawe; Robert Stewart, 70, of Stockport, and Richard Townsend, 38, of Heywood, Greater Manchester. The case continues.
