Husband asked abuser to leave 'TripAdvisor-style' review after rape, court told
Husband asked abuser to leave 'TripAdvisor-style' review

A husband invited two strangers to his home one night to sexually assault his sedated wife, asking one to leave an online review "like on TripAdvisor", a court has heard. The man, in his 60s from Stockport, Greater Manchester, has admitted drugging and raping his wife for more than 20 years without her knowledge and allowing others to engage in sexual activity with her. He cannot be identified to protect his wife's anonymity.

Strangers invited to abuse wife

The Crown say two defendants on trial, Philip Wild, 59, and Mohammed Sabir, 28, both from Stockport, met the husband via a swinging sex chat site and sexually abused his wife in early 2025 in a single night after being invited to the couple's address. Video recordings taken by the husband, allegedly of Wild abusing his wife, were played to the jury but not shown to the public gallery or press bench.

Ms Oakley told the court that after Wild left, the husband was still "not sexually satisfied" and invited another man from the swinging site, recruitment consultant Mohammed Sabir, who had the username 'Kashmiri Spice'. Sabir allegedly arrived after 4am, when the wife was upstairs "asleep, drunk and passed out" and "not able to consent to any sexual activity".

Online review request

Ms Oakley said: "Afterwards the husband asked Sabir to leave a review on (the swinging site) - like you would leave a review like on TripAdvisor when you go to a nice hotel." On 17 March 2025, using the username 'Kashmiri Spice', Sabir allegedly left a review saying: "Really easy to set up a meet. It was my first experience f**king someone's wife in front of them so thanks for that!"

The review was intended to help the husband "secure" other people interested in the same experience, Ms Oakley claimed. Another individual the husband met on the swinging site was Sean Peers, 38, from Stockport, who has already pleaded guilty to his sexual offending.

Other alleged offenders

The husband arranged for Peers to visit his address in 2024 shortly after Graham Brougham, 74, of Northwich, Cheshire, raped his wife in their bed after being invited over. Ms Oakley said: "They attended on a single night one after the other, and during the course of their attendance she was unconscious."

Images were taken by the husband of Peers' abuse and shared later that day with him. Peers messaged the husband: "You should show her off more often." The images were also allegedly shared with Daniel Rayner, 42, of Whitstable, Kent, one of the nine on trial, whom the husband met on a Telegram chat group. In a text exchange Rayner allegedly asked: "Is that you or some other lucky bugger? Hope there's more. So when can I come over and play if your pimping her out?"

Keith Fotheringham, 59, of Dundee, who has pleaded guilty to various offences, also attended the marital home in 2025 to sexually abuse his "unconscious" victim, the court heard. Ms Oakley said: "Keith Fotheringham's involvement extended far beyond his substantive offending and amounted to participation in the main conspiracies in this case, in the knowledge that other men were involved."

Investigation and trial

The wife's ordeal only came to an end after journalists infiltrated an online messaging forum on Telegram and police swooped in 2025 at the husband's home address. Detectives seized a mobile phone containing more than one million photographs and videos cataloguing the abuse by him and others.

Ms Oakley said: "She had absolutely no idea it was going on. That is, until the police came to her door and she was identified as the subject of the videos taken by (the husband). These men took pleasure not only in the sexual acts they performed or agreed should be performed, but in the fact that (the wife) was 'unaware' – one of the buzz words they used repeatedly."

On trial are David Graves, 60, a sales rep; Jonathan Kirk, 43, a senior paramedic; Robert Stewart, 70; Mohammed Sabir, 28; youth football coach Alan Keelan, 42; dog walker Jordan Wallace, 31; taxi driver Philip Wild, 59; metal worker Richard Townsend, 38; and Daniel Rayner, 42. All deny a variety of sexual offences. Four other men have pleaded guilty at earlier hearings: Keith Fotheringham, Karl Lindsay, 56, of Taunton; Sean Peers; and Graham Brougham. The case continues.
