Ann Widdecombe Murder Suspect Named: Joshua Kerry Charged

Joshua Kerry, a 28-year-old former lift company worker, has been charged with the murder of former Conservative MP and Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe. The charge follows almost a week of questioning after Kerry's arrest at his terraced home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, at 9pm on Saturday 11 July.

Details of the Attack

Ms Widdecombe, 78, was found dead at her remote home in Haytor, Devon, on Thursday 9 July, after sustaining serious injuries in an attack around 12.30pm the previous day. Kerry is suspected of driving nearly 300 miles to carry out the assault.

Police Investigation

In a major update announced live on air, Counter Terrorism Police stated they are pursuing over 800 lines of enquiry to establish the motive behind Ms Widdecombe's murder. The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together the events leading to her death.
