A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a 17-year-old was stabbed to death at a council headquarters building in north-west London.

David Wynter died after the attack at Brent Civic Centre on Engineers Way, Wembley, shortly before 2.30pm on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Police said.

Court appearance and charge

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where he was charged with murder and possession of a blade in a public place.

He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during the brief hearing, and was remanded in custody.

Next steps and support

He will next appear before the Old Bailey on Friday, August 28. The Met said on Wednesday that the victim’s next-of-kin are being supported by specially trained officers.
