Who is David Campbell?
David Campbell, a retired Scottish gamekeeper, was charged with the murder of Brian Low, who was found dead in rural Perthshire in early 2024. Initially treated as non-suspicious, the death was later revealed to be a shooting. Police focused on Campbell, his neighbour and former colleague.
The prosecution presented evidence including deleted CCTV from Campbell's home, a doorbell camera covered in tape, and footage of a figure on an e-bike carrying a shotgun-shaped bag. A horse startling in a nearby field was also cited. The defence aimed to expose flaws in the evidence, as no witnesses or forensic links tied Campbell to the crime.
Where is David Campbell now?
David Campbell was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment at the High Court in Glasgow in 2024. He must serve a minimum of 19 years before parole eligibility, meaning as of 2026 he remains in prison, aged around 77.
