Bondi Beach Shooter Naveed Akram Moved to Goulburn Supermax Prison
Alleged Bondi Attacker Transferred to Supermax

One of the men accused of carrying out a deadly shooting at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney has been transferred to Australia's highest-security prison facility.

Suspect Moved to Notorious Supermax Facility

Naveed Akram, aged 24, has been moved to the Goulburn Supermax Prison, a facility reserved for the country's most dangerous inmates. This transfer follows his arrest and the laying of serious charges in connection with the horrific attack at Bondi Beach's Archer Park.

Details of the Bondi Beach Attack

The incident unfolded on December 14 during a public Hanukkah celebration organised by the Chabad Synagogue. Police allege that Naveed Akram and his father, Sajid Akram, opened fire on the gathered crowd.

The attack lasted just over six minutes but had devastating consequences. Fifteen innocent people lost their lives. The victims included a 10-year-old girl named Matilda and an 87-year-old Holocaust survivor and grandfather, Alex Kleytman.

Police responded to the scene and shot dead Sajid Akram during the confrontation. His son, Naveed, was taken into custody.

Multiple Charges and Ongoing Proceedings

Naveed Akram now faces a total of 59 criminal offences related to the attack. The move to Goulburn Supermax is a standard procedure for individuals charged with high-profile, severe crimes while they await trial, ensuring maximum security.

The community continues to reel from the tragedy, described as one of the worst acts of violence in Sydney's recent history. Further legal proceedings and investigations are expected as the case progresses through the courts.
