Greater Manchester Police have issued an update after a man in his 30s was arrested following a three-hour stand-off in Stockport. The suspect, who was wanted on suspicion of rape, breach of a harassment order, and recall to prison, has now been recalled to prison and remains in custody.
Incident Details
Emergency services were called to Deneway in Heaton Norris in the early hours of Tuesday, June 16. When officers arrived, the suspect climbed out of a window onto a roof and refused to come down for three hours. Police deployed several resources, including a helicopter, firefighters, and paramedics. The suspect eventually came down at around 5:30am and was arrested.
Update on Charges
In an update issued on Wednesday, June 17, Greater Manchester Police confirmed the man had been bailed in relation to the rape allegation. However, he has also been recalled to prison and is currently in custody.
