CCTV Appeal After Assault on Three Men in Wigan

Greater Manchester Police have issued a CCTV image as part of a public appeal following an assault on three men at a venue in Wigan last month. The incident occurred at a licensed premises on Market Street in Atherton shortly before 12:30 AM on May 31.

Unprovoked Attack

According to police, the attack is believed to have been unprovoked, and the suspect was not known to any of the victims. Officers are continuing to investigate the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

CCTV Image Released

Police have shared a picture of a man they believe could assist with their enquiries. The image, released by GMP Wigan, shows an individual they wish to speak to in connection with the assault.

An appeal from GMP Wigan stated: "Officers are appealing for information after an alleged assault in Atherton on 31 May 2026. It is understood that the suspect assaulted three males at a licensed premises on Market Street at around 00:26 AM on 31/05/2026. It is believed that the three assaults were unprovoked and that the suspect was not known to any of the victims. Officers would like to speak with the man pictured as we believe he may be able to help us with enquiries."
