Car Wash Brawl Leaves Staff Member Hospitalised with Puncture Wound
A fight outside a car wash in Walton that resulted in a man being rushed to hospital with a puncture wound to his back involved a member of staff, the valet centre's boss has confirmed. The altercation took place at Long Lane Hand Car Wash at around 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, prompting emergency services to respond.
Merseyside Police officers arrived at the scene to find a man in his 20s suffering from a puncture wound to his back. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Long Lane Hand Car Wash boss Hasib Nureen told the Liverpool Echo that the victim was an employee and that he was "OK" and expected to be discharged from hospital on Monday, July 6.
Car Wash Open as Usual After Incident
Despite the incident, the car wash and valeting centre was operating as usual on Monday morning, with multiple cars being serviced on the premises. The site had been cordoned off by police on Sunday evening, but the cordon was lifted by Monday. Mr. Nureen explained that "there was a small argument" that escalated into a brawl involving a group of men outside the car wash gates. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, and an investigation is now underway to locate those involved.
In a video seen by the Liverpool Echo, a group of men can be seen fighting at the car wash before being chased away, with muffled shouting audible. When the Echo attended the scene on Sunday, forensic officers had bagged several items, including what appeared to be two shovels.
