A 15-year-old boy shut a history teacher inside her classroom before attacking her with a large kitchen knife, a court heard today at Swansea Crown Court. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder Vicki Williams at Milford Haven Comprehensive School in February.
Prosecution details the attack
The prosecution alleges that the boy followed Ms Williams into a classroom, shut the door, and deliberately stabbed her in the head with a look of “pure hatred” while intent on killing her. Christopher Rees KC, prosecuting, stated: “(The boy) would’ve continued this murderous attack had Vicki Williams not grabbed the knife and fended (him) off.” The boy claims that the teacher was accidentally injured in a struggle when he refused to hand over the knife.
Teacher's injuries and testimony
Ms Williams attended Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest and was found to have sustained a wound to her scalp, scratches on her back, and minor cuts to her hands. In a recording played to the court, she said: “What gets me is how cool and collected he was coming in. His eyes were psychotic, his eyes were full of just pure rage. He stabs me in the head, he’s trying to kill me. I’ve never had a run in with (him). I’ve never had a cross word with him… I’ve no idea where this has come from.”
Ongoing legal proceedings
The trial at Swansea Crown Court continues, with further evidence expected to be presented. The court has not yet reached a verdict.
