Construction Express Ltd enters liquidation after 16 years

Construction Express Ltd, a UK construction company incorporated in April 2010, has entered liquidation. Liquidators were appointed on October 5, 2026, according to public records. The company is registered to an address in Chorley.

Liquidators appointed

Jasmine Baxter and Rikki Burton, both of Anderson Brookes Insolvency Practitioners Limited, have been appointed as liquidators. The latest publicly available documents on Companies House, dated up until April 2025, showed the firm did not have any amounts falling due within one year. The reason for the liquidation has not been disclosed.

Industry trend

Several construction companies have entered liquidation this year, many due to financial difficulties. Last month, Kevin William Peare & Sons entered administration with more than 50 years of experience. In September, Surrey-based Bartek Builders Ltd was appointed liquidators on September 28, 2026, after documents displayed £97,000 of debts. London and South East building contractor Helix Construct, which specialised in affordable housing, education, care and commercial projects, also recently entered liquidation.

Wider insolvency picture

Construction companies are not the only businesses affected. In April alone, government data shows that over 2,000 firms registered company insolvencies in England and Wales, with travel, agriculture and retail among the impacted sectors.

A company is insolvent when it cannot pay its debts, either because it cannot pay bills when they become due or because it has more liabilities than assets on its balance sheet. Companies may be able to continue trading if directors take action, but if not, the firm will be in danger of being closed down, according to the government website.
