A woman has died following a major house fire near Coventry, while another remains in hospital receiving treatment for smoke inhalation.
Incident Details
Emergency services were called to a property on Marston Lane in Bedworth just before 6:30am on Saturday. Fire crews and paramedics arrived to find a woman with serious injuries. Despite receiving immediate treatment at the scene, she was pronounced dead.
A second woman was taken to George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton, where she is being treated for smoke inhalation. Her condition has not been disclosed.
Ongoing Investigation
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and local police. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims pending family notification.
