Emergency services were called to a crash on the A48 Eastern Avenue at Llanderyn on Monday evening. The collision, involving a van and a car, occurred on the eastbound slip road at around 6.40pm.
Victim identified
A 41-year-old woman from the Trowbridge area of Cardiff was pronounced dead at the scene, police have confirmed. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specially-trained officers.
Road closure and investigation
The stretch of the A48 was closed for around 12 hours for collision investigation work before reopening shortly before 7am on Tuesday. South Wales Police is investigating the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or may have relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact the force. A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the A48 eastbound slip road at Llanderyn at around 6.40pm on Monday, August 3 following a report of a collision involving a van and a car. A 41-year-old woman from Trowbridge, Cardiff died at the scene. Her family has been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. An investigation into the collision is currently underway.
