Woman, 29, Fighting for Life After Collapse in Bali

A 29-year-old Australian woman is fighting for her life after mysteriously collapsing while on holiday in Bali. Luca Loveday was at a restaurant with her best friend when she began shaking uncontrollably and fell, striking her head on a table and then the concrete floor.

Severe Injuries

Luca suffered multiple brain bleeds, a fractured skull, brain swelling, and air in her brain. She remains in intensive care and is unable to fly home.

Family by Her Side

Her sister Rikki Loveday and other family members rushed to Bali to be with her. Rikki described Luca as one of the kindest, most caring, and vibrant people you could meet. The family has set up a GoFundMe to cover medical costs, as her insurance does not cover the treatment. Over £13,000 has been raised so far.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown, with possibilities including a seizure, fainting, or humidity. The family is trying to obtain CCTV footage from the venue. Doctors continue to monitor her closely, and it is uncertain how long she will need to remain in hospital.

Rikki said navigating this in another country is overwhelming, but the family is getting through it one day at a time. Once Luca is stable, she will require ongoing medical care and rehabilitation.
