Wigan police seize car after erratic driving reports

Police in Wigan have recovered a car after reports of a vehicle being driven erratically during the night. The car was found abandoned behind a residential address.

Vehicle seized after checks

The vehicle had sustained extensive damage and further checks revealed it was showing as uninsured. Officers also identified conflicting information regarding ownership, resulting in the vehicle being seized for further investigation.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Following reports from members of the public regarding a vehicle being driven erratically during the night, officers carried out enquiries and, with assistance from the public, successfully located the vehicle abandoned behind a residential address."

Police appeal for information

"Driving in an anti-social, careless, or dangerous manner puts road users and local communities at risk. Information from residents is invaluable in helping us identify offending vehicles, tackle anti-social behaviour, and keep our communities safe. If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate risk to life or safety, call 999."

For non-emergency reports, call 101. Reports can also be submitted online via the Greater Manchester Police website. Information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
