West London School Fire: 550 Evacuated, One Hospitalised

A fire at Rabbsfarm Primary School in West Drayton, west London, resulted in the evacuation of approximately 550 pupils and staff, with one person rushed to hospital. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the scene at around 12:15pm on Thursday after reports of a blaze on the school's rooftop.

Firefighters Respond to Rooftop Blaze

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters from Hayes, Hillingdon, Feltham, and surrounding fire stations were dispatched to the incident. The fire affected part of the roof and a number of solar panels, prompting the immediate evacuation of the school. The LFB reported that the fire was under control by approximately 2:05pm and advised the public to avoid the area.

Medical Response and Casualties

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson stated: "We were called at 12:30pm today (16 July) to reports of a fire at Rabbsfarm Primary School, Gordon Road, W5. We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer. We treated three patients at the scene and took one to a local hospital."

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the London Fire Brigade. No further details have been released at this time.
