Appeal to the Public
Detective Chief Inspector David Hutcheon, of the Major Investigation Team, has urged the public to think before spreading rumours about the incident. He said: "As our investigation continues, a 52-year-old man who was arrested earlier in the week has now been released on bail. Enquiries into fully establishing the circumstances of what happened here remain ongoing and we remain open minded."
He added: "Home Office Post Mortem colleagues have now informed us that the cause of death of the 79-year-old woman is currently being withheld pending further enquiries. This investigation remains ongoing and we would like to remind the public to think of the family at the centre of this investigation before choosing to engage in any form of speculation, particularly on social media."
