Firefighters Respond to Blaze on Nevill Road
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to the scene on Nevill Road at 3:46 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Fire engines from four stations attended as firefighters battled the flames.
In an update at 8 a.m., the fire service reported that crews were "damping down hot spots, cutting away and ventilating the property." By 9 a.m., they added: "Four fire engines are currently at the scene from East and West Sussex. Crews are using positive pressure ventilation fans for smoke clearance. Please continue to avoid the area as roads remain closed at this time."
