Urgent Manhunt for Escaped Prisoner in Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester Police have launched an urgent manhunt after a prisoner escaped custody. Marwan Jumaa, 20, absconded on Tuesday evening after being transferred from a secure hospital facility to North Manchester Hospital for medical treatment.

Police Warn Public Not to Approach

Police have issued an appeal for information, describing Jumaa as a risk to himself and others. They urge anyone who sees him not to approach but to call 999 immediately.

Jumaa is black, of skinny build, with short dark hair, and about 5ft 10ins tall. He is believed to have links to Bury, Prestwich, and Crumpsall in Greater Manchester, as well as Leeds and London.

Police Statement

Detective Chief Inspector Abigail Cronin, from Greater Manchester Police (GMP), said: “We are urging anybody to come forward who may have information about Marwan’s whereabouts. I recognise that this may heighten concern within the community. However, I want to assure you that we have officers working around the clock to find Marwan and return him to hospital as soon as possible. If sighted, do not approach him, please call 999 immediately, quoting log number 3544 of 14/07/2026.”

Police continue to search for Jumaa and ask anyone with information to contact them.
