Tributes have poured in for a "lovely" woman following her death at a Liverpool city centre hotel. Suzanne Menagh, 40, from the Liverpool area, was found dead at the White Star Line Hotel on James Street in the early hours of Saturday, August 1.
Emergency response and investigation
Officers were called to the hotel by the North West Ambulance Service at approximately 3.20am after reports that a woman had fallen ill. Despite paramedics attending, the 40-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been notified.
Her death is currently being treated as unexplained. A post-mortem examination has taken place to determine the cause of death, with the results held back pending additional tests.
Tributes from friends and colleagues
Since Suzanne's passing, touching tributes have flooded social media from friends, former work colleagues and community members. Ry's Competitions, based in Bootle, described Suzanne as a "valued and loyal member" of its community.
In a tribute, the company said: "From everyone at Ry's Competitions, we would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Menagh family following the sad loss of Suzanne. She was always a pleasure to have as part of our community. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Melissa, the entire Menagh family, and all those who knew and loved Suzanne during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Suzanne."
Numerous others have also posted messages remembering Suzanne. Darhyl Sharp expressed their grief, writing: "She had a heart of gold. Still can't get my head around it. RIP Sue, you will be missed." Amme Snobbig commented: "Lovely girl. She's going to be missed by so many. R.I.P Sue." Leanne Kelly shared: "I can't believe you have gone, not going to see you again. Thinking of your mum, dad and sisters at this sad time." Kenny Fields offered his condolences: "Thinking of all the Menagh family at this very sad time. Rest in peace, Suzanne. Gone far too soon. Arrests and ongoing enquiries
During the continuing investigation, detectives have arrested a 47-year-old man from Kirkby and a 34-year-old woman from Liverpool on suspicion of murder. A 31-year-old man from Liverpool has also been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. The trio have all been released on conditional bail while police enquiries progress.
Yesterday evening (August 3), two police forensic vehicles were spotted outside The White Star Line Hotel as investigators carried out their work. A spokesperson for The White Star Line Hotel said: "Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased at this time. We are assisting the police in their enquiries in any way we can."
