Two Taken to Hospital After Suspicious Package Sent to MP

Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution after a suspicious package was delivered to an MP's Westminster office on Monday. The London Ambulance Service's hazardous area response team (HART) was called to the Norman Shaw North building on Whitehall at 12:58 GMT.

Police confirmed that the two individuals did not require hospital treatment. A temporary cordon that was put in place has since been removed.

The incident prompted a security operation that led to the evacuation of Trafalgar Square, though the area has now been reopened.
