In a shocking case that has gripped the nation, TikTok influencer Mahek Bukhari and her mother Ansreen have been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murder of 21-year-old Saqib Hussain.
The horrific crime unfolded on the A46 in Leicester last year, when the mother-daughter duo orchestrated a terrifying car chase that ended in a fatal fireball crash, claiming the lives of two young men.
The Deadly Confrontation
Court proceedings revealed that the Bukharis lured Mr Hussain to a car park under the false pretence of returning intimate videos he possessed of Ansreen. What followed was a carefully planned ambush that turned into a high-speed pursuit along Leicester's roads.
Two cars containing the Bukharis and their accomplices boxed in Mr Hussain's vehicle before deliberately forcing it off the road. The Skoda Fabia carrying Mr Hussain and his friend Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin crashed into a tree and burst into flames, killing both men instantly.
Desperate Cover-Up Attempt
Following the fatal crash, the defendants engaged in a coordinated effort to conceal their involvement. They disposed of mobile phones and changed their stories multiple times in a desperate attempt to evade justice.
However, meticulous police work and digital evidence eventually exposed the truth behind their deadly plot. The court heard how the group had intended to rob Mr Hussain but the situation escalated into murder.

Judge Timothy Spencer KC delivered the sentences at Leicester Crown Court, describing the defendants as "self-obsessed and cynical" individuals who showed no remorse for their actions.
Mahek Bukhari received a minimum term of 31 years and 10 months, while her mother Ansreen was handed a minimum of 26 years and 9 months. Their accomplices also received substantial prison sentences for their roles in the murder.
