Three teenagers arrested after biker dies in Llandudno

Three teenagers have been arrested after a man fell to his death on the North Wales coastline. At 10.30pm on Thursday, October 29, a biker crashed on the Great Orme near Marine Drive in Llandudno.

Rescue operation and death

The Great Orme is a limestone headland, made up of solid rock, that sits above the Irish Sea. The biker fell into the sea after the crash and a major rescue operation was launched involving Llandudno RNLI. He was recovered from the water but died from his injuries.

His name and age have not been released but police have described him as a 'well-loved young man'.

Arrests and police appeal

Officers are appealing for anyone with footage of the fatal crash to come forward. A North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit appeal said: "Investigating officers have launched a further public appeal following the fatal road traffic collision in Llandudno last week.

"The incident occurred on Marine Drive at 10.30pm on Thursday, 29 October. Three males, aged between 17 and 18 have been arrested and interviewed in connection with the incident, and have since been released whilst enquiries continue.

"Further to our previous appeal, officers are requesting dashcam footage from anyone who was driving around Llandudno town centre between 10pm and 10:30pm.

"We are also keen to review dashcam footage from anyone who drove along Marine Drive, Llandudno from the Toll House around the headland anytime between Monday, 26th and Thursday, 29th October."

Investigation continues

Detective Inspector Tim Evans from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "I would urge people not to speculate on the circumstances of this collision or make comment on social media as this can be particularly distressing.

"Since our initial appeal, we have now traced the black-coloured vehicle. However, I believe that there are people within our local community who have direct information which could assist this investigation and provide answers on what led to the tragic and devastating death of a young man, loved by so many."
