Three Arrested After Armed Police Swarm Grimsby KFC

Armed police descended on a KFC car park in Grimsby after reports of a man carrying what appeared to be a gun. The incident occurred on Birchin Way on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a swift response from Humberside Police.

Officers were called at around 1:50pm following a concerned call from a member of the public who spotted a man in a vehicle with what looked like a firearm. Three men were located and arrested by armed officers at the scene. A suspected BB gun was also recovered and seized by police.

The three men—aged 33 and two aged 28—have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. They remain in custody while investigations continue. Detective Inspector Darren Critten said: 'I know reports of this nature can be concerning for those in the local area, and I want to reassure that we always treat such calls as a priority.'

Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time, to contact them on 101 quoting log 222 of 19 December.
