Armed police officers descended on a fast-food restaurant car park in Grimsby this afternoon following alarming reports of a man seen with what looked like a firearm.
Armed Response at Birchin Way
Humberside Police received a urgent call from a concerned member of the public at approximately 1:50pm on Thursday, 19 December 2025. The caller reported seeing a man inside a vehicle on Birchin Way, near the KFC outlet, who appeared to be in possession of a gun.
In response to the potential threat, armed response units were immediately dispatched to the scene. The area around the popular fast-food chain was swiftly secured as officers assessed the situation.
