Armed police officers descended on a fast-food restaurant car park in Grimsby this afternoon following alarming reports of a man seen with what looked like a firearm.
Armed Response at Birchin Way
Humberside Police received a urgent call from a concerned member of the public at approximately 1:50pm on Thursday, 19 December 2025. The caller reported seeing a man inside a vehicle on Birchin Way, near the KFC outlet, who appeared to be in possession of a gun.
In response to the potential threat, armed response units were immediately dispatched to the scene. The area around the popular fast-food chain was swiftly secured as officers assessed the situation.
Three Men in Custody After Arrests
The police operation led to the swift location and detention of three individuals connected to the incident. All three men were arrested at the scene by armed officers. During the operation, police also located and seized an item described as a "suspected BB gun."
