Horrifying CCTV footage has emerged showing three teenage boys launching an unprovoked attack on a defenceless Rottweiler while his owner was momentarily distracted in a London convenience store.
The shocking incident, captured on security cameras in Westminster, shows the youths entering the shop before one deliberately kicks the gentle giant named Tyson with substantial force.
Disturbing Sequence of Events
Security footage reveals the troubling sequence of events that unfolded around 7:30 PM on a weekday evening. The dog's owner, 28-year-old delivery driver Artur, had popped into the local shop to purchase cigarettes when the attack occurred.
"I turned my back for literally thirty seconds," a distressed Artur recounted. "When I turned around, I saw one boy kicking my dog and another standing guard by the door. I couldn't believe what I was seeing."
Miraculous Escape from Serious Injury
Despite the vicious nature of the attack, seven-year-old Tyson miraculously escaped without broken bones or internal injuries, though he suffered significant bruising and trauma.
Veterinary examinations confirmed the dog's fortunate escape from more serious harm. "He's a very lucky dog," Artur explained. "The vet said the kick could easily have caused broken ribs or internal bleeding. Tyson has been very subdued since the attack and clearly remembers what happened."
Police Investigation Underway
Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the animal cruelty incident and are reviewing the CCTV footage. Officers are appealing to the public for information to identify the three teenagers involved.
A police spokesperson confirmed: "We're treating this as a serious case of animal cruelty and are following several lines of enquiry. We urge anyone with information to come forward immediately."
Community Outrage and Support
The local community has rallied around Artur and Tyson, expressing outrage at the senseless attack. Social media has been flooded with messages of support for the gentle Rottweiler and condemnation for his attackers.
Animal welfare organisations have emphasised the seriousness of such attacks, noting that cruelty to animals often correlates with other violent behaviours.
Artur remains hopeful that the perpetrators will be identified and face justice, while being grateful that his loyal companion survived the traumatic ordeal relatively unscathed.
